“Dimitrie Leonida” National Technical Museum

Bucharest

The "Dimitrie Leonida" National Technical Museum is located in the Carol Park in Bucharest and preserves objects that show how technology and transport have evolved. It was founded in 1909 by the engineer Dimitrie Leonida, who wanted people to understand science with the help of concrete examples.

Collections include engines, electrical appliances, machinery and old automobiles. They help to understand inventions that have changed everyday life, from generating electricity to driving a car. The museum provides a starting point for discussions about how mechanisms work and the differences between the technologies of yesteryear and today.
