Acousticophobia (ligyrophobia)

Noises, even soft ones such as kitchen sounds or a door closing, can frighten people with acousticophobia. The fear is a branch of phonophobia, also called ligyrophobia. An affected person becomes anxious when watching someone blow up a balloon too far, because they expect it to pop.
