Ailurophobia (gatophobia)

Cats, and felines in general, trigger a persistent and excessive fear in people with ailurophobia. The name comes from the Greek ailouros, “cat”, and the synonym gatophobia from the Spanish gato. The exact cause is unknown, and treatment usually involves therapy.
