Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden

Cluj-Napoca, Cluj

The Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden is located in Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, on Republicii Street, and belongs to Babeș-Bolyai University. It was founded in 1920 by Professor Alexandru Borza. The grounds, with slopes, small valleys and sunny areas, are home to collections of plants from different regions of the world.

Among the landmarks are the Japanese garden, the Roman garden, the water tower and the greenhouse complex. The flowers in the ornamental section change from season to season, and the scientific sections group plants by taxonomic relationships, origin or use. Roman remains and cultivated plants are gathered in the Roman garden, dedicated to the ancient settlement of Napoca.
