Alpha follows an epic story of survival from 20,000 years ago during the last ice age. During his first hunt, considered an initiation into the most elite group of his tribe, young Keda is injured and presumed dead after a bison hunt ends horribly. Finding himself injured, alone and far from his village, he must learn to survive and navigate the harsh and unforgiving wilderness. As he develops a friendship with a wolf, the two learn to rely on each other to hunt, face countless dangers, and find their way home before the unforgiving winter arrives.
