Amara

Amara is located in Ialomița County, near Slobozia, in the central part of the Bărăgan Plain. The spa resort developed on the shores of the lake of the same name, known for its salt-rich water and black mud. The tourist facilities are in a separate area from the town center.

Low banks, green spaces and spa pavilions form the landscape of the resort. The lake has an elongated, curved shape and is fed by rainfall and groundwater. Evaporation and the dry climate of the plain help concentrate the salts. The lake area is also important for nesting or migrating birds.
