Annunciation Church in Lipova
Lipova, Arad
The Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Lipova was built in 1792 and consecrated on its patronal feast day by the Serbian bishop of Arad, Pavel Avacumovici.
The iconostasis painted in 1875 by the Banat painter Nicolae Popescu is the church’s most valuable piece. The church was repaired several times after the Mureș floods in 1932, 1970 and 1975. It is a historical monument.
