Annunciation Wooden Church – Draga

Piatra Neamț, Neamț

The wooden Church of the Annunciation stands within the Draga Hermitage, on Cozla Hill in Piatra Neamț. The church was moved here from the Sărata neighborhood in 1999 and dates from the late eighteenth century. It stands near the hermitage’s masonry church, on a separate plot.

The oak beams are joined with dovetail joints, and the church has a cross-shaped plan. The open porch supports a square tower, covered, like the rest of the building, with shingles. The dimensions are modest: about 14 meters long and 6 meters wide. The church is a historical monument, and services only take place on certain holidays; there are no confirmed daily visiting hours for the interior.
