Art Collections Museum
The Museum of Art Collections occupies the Romanit Palace on Calea Victoriei in Bucharest and is part of the National Art Museum of Romania. Opened in 1978, it brings together over thirty collections, presented in such a way as to preserve their connection with the people who assembled them. The rooms bring together painting, sculpture and decorative objects, in combinations that differ from one collector to another.
Among the artists represented are Nicolae Grigorescu, Theodor Aman, Nicolae Tonitza and Theodor Pallady. Along with Romanian art, there are European and Oriental works, furniture, carpets, ceramics and icons. The palace went through an extensive restoration process between 2008 and 2013. The tour allows following very different collecting preferences, from modern painting to decorative objects. Guided visits for groups are arranged in advance, according to the conditions published by the museum.
