Art Museum in Timișoara

Timișoara, Timiș

The Timișoara National Art Museum occupies the Baroque Palace in Piața Unirii, one of the historic edifices of the Cetate neighborhood. Its collections bring together painting, sculpture, decorative art and European works, in a building linked to the administration of Banat from the Habsburg period.

The Corneliu Baba collection, made up of works and personal objects of the painter, has a special place. The palace halls host permanent and temporary exhibitions, and the monumental staircase and interior decorations are part of the visit. The institution separated from the Banat Museum in 2006, continuing the development of the city's art collections.
