Art Theatre in Deva
The Art Theater in Deva operates in a building completed in 1911, designed by Marcell Komor and Dezső Jakab. On the same site there had been the Redout restaurant, which also had a performance hall. The new construction took over the cultural function of the place and brought to the city center the Secession architecture practiced by the two architects.
The facade has floral decorations, decorative bands with garlands and volumes that mark the entrances. On the first floor, the semicircular loggia of the foyer stands out, and the roofs emphasize the corners of the building. These details can be seen from the central street. The interior is accessible during performances and events announced by the theater, so a visit to the hall is planned according to the artistic program of the institution.
