Ascension of the Lord Roman Catholic Church in Câmpulung Moldovenesc

The Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension of the Lord is located on Calea Transilvaniei in Câmpulung Moldovenesc. The current building was finished in 1815 and consecrated in 1826, in a locality where the Catholic community had been organized since the end of the eighteenth century. The stone and brick construction followed a design by the Viennese civil construction service.

The clock tower rises above the entrance, and the facade and row of tall windows can be seen from the main street. The church has gone through successive renovations, including works after which the altar was consecrated in 2008. It is still the seat of an active parish, which also brings together the Catholic communities of several nearby towns.
