Băile Herculane Railway Station
Băile Herculane train station is located at the entrance to the resort, near the confluence of Cerna and Belareca. Opened in 1878, the station was part of the infrastructure that brought the old spa destination closer to travelers arriving by train. The central pavilion, the decorated dome and the side wings give the building a different appearance from that of an ordinary railway station.
The facades can be viewed from the public area of the station, where the tall windows, arches and ornaments are distinguished. The building remains linked to rail transport and can be seen upon arrival at the resort or at a stop dedicated to its architecture. Access to passenger spaces depends on possible station works and restrictions.
