Bald Eagle
It is not actually bald: the English name “bald eagle” comes from an old meaning of the word, “white-headed”. This bird of prey from North America lives near large bodies of water and catches mostly fish, which it snatches from the water with its talons. It builds the largest nest of any North American bird, up to 4 m deep and weighing 1 tonne, and it is the national bird of the United States.
