Baroque Palace in Oradea

Oradea, Bihor

The Baroque Palace in Oradea is located near the Roman Catholic Basilica and the Canons' Row, in Bihor county. The episcopal residence was built in the second half of the eighteenth century. The building has the shape of the letter U, three levels and a roof with a change in slope, characteristic of Central European Baroque.

The long facades, the court of honor and the park are part of the same ensemble. In the past, the palace housed the Țării Crișurilor Museum, before its return to the use of the Roman Catholic Bishopric. The windows on the first floor have wavy pediments, and the main entrance is accentuated by a slightly projecting body at the front.
