Bogdana Monastery
Rădăuți, Suceava
The Bogdana Monastery in Rădăuți has the oldest masonry church in Moldavia, Saint Nicholas, founded by ruler Bogdan I in the fourteenth century. The first rulers of Moldavia were buried here, up to Alexander the Good.
Between 1479 and 1482, Stephen the Great placed carved slabs with Slavonic inscriptions on the graves of six rulers. The bell tower was built in 1781.
