Botanical Garden in Bucharest

The "Dimitrie Brândză" Botanical Garden is located in the Cotroceni district of Bucharest and belongs to the University of Bucharest. The institution was founded in 1860 and the collections are organized in open-air sectors, greenhouses and a museum. Plants are grouped by taxonomic relationships, origin or use.

Paths lead past trees, ornamental plants and botanical collections, and greenhouses keep species adapted to other climates. The garden also has a herbarium used for research, separate from the walking spaces. The Italian garden has symmetrical paths, a fountain and boxwood and cypress plantings.
