Brukenthal Palace in Sibiu

Sibiu, Sibiu

In Sibiu's Great Square, the Brukenthal Palace preserves the facade and inner courtyards of a baroque residence built between 1778 and 1788. Samuel von Brukenthal used the building as his home and as a place for his collections. Today the palace is one of the buildings of the Brukenthal National Museum, and a visit links the architecture of the residence with the artworks on display. The entrance portal, the decorations and the succession of rooms are part of the tour. The museum announces which routes are open and any rooms temporarily closed for renovation work or exhibition changes.
