Bucovina Village Museum
The Bucovinian Village Museum brings together, in Suceava, households and community buildings brought from Bucovina villages. The houses and annexes are placed along some streets, and the center of the village is outlined by the church and bell tower of Vama, the school of Securiceni and the tavern of Șaru Dornei. The woodwork, roofs and ornaments show the way houses were built in different areas of the region. The visit takes place in an open-air museum, where the buildings are presented together with their surroundings and household annexes.
On the valley of the stream in the museum there are the mill from Mănăstirea Humorului and installations used for wool processing. The workshops keep the tools of some traditional trades, and the houses are furnished with furniture, fabrics, stoves and ovens specific to the place of origin. Folk costumes and household items complete the rooms. The ensemble is part of the National Museum of Bucovina and presents both the living and the occupations of Bucovina rural communities.
