Buzău County Museum
The Buzău County Museum presents its archaeology, history and art collections in the former Girls' Teacher Training School, on Aleea Castanilor. The building was built between 1931 and 1937 and became a museum in 1977. The rooms trace different periods of the region's past, from prehistoric communities and archaeological discoveries to medieval and modern history.
The course includes numismatic pieces, objects related to private life from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and an exhibition dedicated to the traveler Dumitru Dan. The art collections include works associated with Margareta Sterian and the Bucur and Maria Chiriac collection, along with tapestries and ceramics. The museum occupies a building restored in 2010–2015; here is the main headquarters, distinct from the houses and museum centers managed in other parts of the city.
