The Cão de Castro Laboreiro is a Portuguese guard dog from the mountains in the extreme north of the country. It is one of the oldest breeds in the Iberian Peninsula and defended flocks against wolves. He is loyal and docile with his family, very alert and has an unmistakable alarm bark.
