Portugal (Trás-os-Montes)
The Cão de Gado Transmontano is a giant molossoid from the Trás-os-Montes region in northeastern Portugal. It is the largest Portuguese breed and even today it guards flocks of sheep and goats from the Iberian wolf. Although so large, it is docile, calm and reserved, cautious but not aggressive.
