Choral Temple in Bucharest

The Choral Temple is located on Sfânta Vineri street, in the center of Bucharest. Work began in 1864, and the synagogue was inaugurated in 1867. The facade with turrets, arches and Moorish-inspired decoration follows the model of a Viennese synagogue in the Leopoldstadt district.
Inside, the superimposed galleries and the central space intended for religious ceremonies stand out. The building belongs to the Jewish Community of Bucharest and is included in the list of historical monuments. Extensions and restorations in the twentieth century added space for an archive, a library and community activities.
