Church of the former Titireciu Monastery
Titireciu Church is located in Lunca, on a hill above the salt mining area of Ocnele Mari. The former hermitage of monks is today the parish church dedicated to Saint John Chrysostom. The church is a historical monument, and its location separates it from the crowded center of the resort.
The brick building has a trefoil plan, an open porch and fresco painting. The parish account attributes the painting from 1747 to hegumen Damaschin Cernovodeanul. Visitors can see the porch arches and painted decoration; check with the parish about access to the interior. The church preserves the identity of the former monastic establishment, even if today it serves the community of Lunca.
