Cișmigiu Park
Bucharest
Between Regina Elisabeta Boulevard, Știrbei Vodă Street and Schitu Măgureanu Street lies Cișmigiu Park, in the center of Bucharest. The park opened in 1854, after a marshy area was turned into a public garden. The lake, the bridges and the tree-lined alleys form the central part of the park.
On the walking routes you will find flower beds, sculptures and the Writers' Rotunda, where busts of Romanian authors are placed. The name Cișmigiu comes from the old title of the official in charge of the city's public fountains. The rotunda includes the busts of Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creangă, Ion Luca Caragiale and other writers.
