Clocociov Monastery
Clocociov Monastery is located in the southern part of Slatina and is dedicated to the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The monastery is documented from the sixteenth century, and the church preserved today is linked to the restoration of 1645, supported by the great aga Diicu Buicescu. Around it is the enclosure with cells and household buildings, separated from the city by the walls of the complex.
The entrance is through a bell tower with a square base and an octagonal upper level. The church has an arched porch and towers rising above the roof. Clocociov is an active monastic settlement, with a community of nuns; in the courtyard and in the church, the visit is carried out respecting the services and spaces reserved for the community.
