Coastal dunes at Agigea
The sea dunes at Agigea are located within the Marine Biological Station «Prof. Dr. Ioan Borcea», in Agigea commune, Constanța county. The reserve preserves sands fixed by vegetation and species adapted to the coast, in a landscape that has become rare on the Romanian coast. Among the protected plants are the plants known locally as cârcel and volbură de nisip.
The themed walkway allows you to observe the habitats, and the station organizes activities about the plants, birds and other creatures of the reserve. The «Alexandru Ioan Cuza» University in Iași administers the station, established in 1926. Visitors must follow the indicated routes and consult the station information before going.
