Comanca Monastery

Pietrișu, Băile Olănești, Vâlcea

The Comanca Monastery is located in Pietrișu, on the territory of the town of Băile Olănești. The Church of All Saints was founded in 1736 by Preda Bujoreanu and priest Teodor from Olănești. The stone and brick building has a pentagonal sanctuary, a shingle roof and no spire. A painted band surrounds the white facades, under the wide eaves.

Inside, old paintings are preserved in the sanctuary and in the nave, along with interventions made during the restoration periods. The works carried out between 1997 and 2007 were followed by the rededication of the church in 2008. The monument is visited as part of the monastic settlement, paying attention to the services and activities that take place here.
