Constanța Museum of National History and Archaeology

Constanța, Constanța

The headquarters of the Museum of National History and Archeology Constanța is temporarily closed for rehabilitation. The museum occupies the former Municipal Palace in Piața Ovidiu, a neo-Romanian style building that became the museum's headquarters in 1977. Its collections trace the history of Dobrogea through sculptures, inscriptions, coins and objects discovered in the sites of the region. Among the known pieces are the Glykon serpent and the statuary group Fortuna with Pontos, from the hoard discovered at Tomis in 1962.

The permanent exhibition in this building cannot be visited during the works. The museum separately announces its exhibitions and activities at other locations, and the sculpture treasure can be discovered online through the Tezaur MINAC project.
