Corfu
Greece
Corfu, called Kerkyra in Greek, is one of the Ionian Islands in western Greece, on the border between the Ionian and Adriatic seas. Its capital, the only city in Greece enclosed by two castles, has an old town with Venetian influence, added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007. The island is also home to the Achilleion palace, which the Greek state turned into a museum.
