Crâng Park in Buzău
Crâng Park was formed from an old oak forest on the edge of Buzău. Crângul Târgului appears in documents as early as 1525, and its use as a promenade is recorded in 1828. Developments made in the nineteenth century transformed part of the forest into an urban park, with paths, a lake and constructions for recreation.
The lake, the island and the bridges are landmarks of the landscaped area, along with the music pavilion and the old refreshment pavilion. The latter dates back to 1897 and combines Swiss influences with Romanian elements. Mature trees maintain the wooded character of the site, right next to the walkways and meeting spaces. The route through the park passes between these historical developments and the vegetated edges of the former grove.
