Crystal Cave in Farcu Mine

Roșia, Bihor

The Crystal Cave from the Farcu Mine is located in Roșia commune, Bihor county, in the Pădurea Craiului Mountains. The cavity was discovered during bauxite mining when a mining tunnel intersected an isolated underground space. Its walls are covered with calcite crystals, formed in the conditions of this cavity without a natural opening to the outside.

The entrance to the cave is through a gallery with an exhibition about mining, where you can see tools and samples of bauxite. The route equipped for visitors reaches a balcony for viewing the crystals, including the Farcu discs and the formations called "Crystal Dragonflies". The visit is with a guide, according to the rules of the administrator.
