Cultural Palace in Arad
The Cultural Palace is located in George Enescu Square in the municipality of Arad, Arad county. Designed by the architect Ludovic Szántay and inaugurated in 1913, the edifice brings together several architectural styles. The main facade has Corinthian columns and a neoclassical pediment, while the side wings use elements of the Italian Renaissance.
The building houses the County Museum and the State Philharmonic. The entrance stairs lead to a hall with Moneasa marble and to the concert hall, where George Enescu and Béla Bartók performed. Visiting exhibitions and access to concerts are organized separately, through the institutions that use the palace.
