Dacian Buridava
Dacian Buridava is located on Cosota Hill, near Ocnița, in the town of Ocnele Mari. The settlement and fortification have been systematically researched since 1961, and recent excavations have brought new information about the inhabited terraces and the Dacian necropolis. The vessels, tools and objects discovered here help to understand the community that lived in this area rich in salt.
The dominant position of the hill, the terraces and traces of archaeological research can be seen on the ground. The site is a destination for those interested in the history and landscape of Ocnița. Before traveling, local access must be checked, as a permanent circuit set up for visitors is not confirmed.
