Daniel Castle in Tălișoara

Tălișoara, Covasna

Daniel Castle is located in Tălișoara, Brăduț commune, Covasna county. The residence of the Daniel family took its main form in the seventeenth century. The family coat of arms, dated 1669, survives above the entrance, and the building shows Renaissance elements and later alterations.

During the restoration, murals painted around 1680 were discovered. The scenes depict events in the family's life, including weddings and a diplomatic mission to the Ottoman court. The estate operates as a hotel and cultural venue, and a multimedia exhibition presents the history of the castle and the frescoes. Check with the estate administrator whether the museum spaces are open to visitors.
