Darvas–La Roche House
Casa Darvas–La Roche is located on Iosif Vulcan street in Oradea, in Bihor county. The residence was designed by the brothers József and László Vágó at the beginning of the twentieth century for the industrialist Imre Darvas. The facade combines geometric surfaces, discreet decoration and elements specific to the Art Nouveau movement.
The building houses the Art Nouveau Museum, where the layout of a bourgeois home and details of furniture, stained glass and ironwork can be traced. The house maintains links with the businesses of the Darvas family and associate Alfred La Roche. Stained glass windows and metal ornaments appear both in the rooms and in the passageways of the house.
