Dormition of the Mother of God Princely Church in Bârlad

The Princely Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God is located on Republicii Street in Bârlad, in the central area of the city. The history of the church is linked to a foundation from the time of Stephen the Great and the restoration carried out during the reign of Vasile Lupu, in 1636. The name Domnească preserves this connection with the rulers of Moldavia.

The church is an active place of worship, used by the parish community. The exterior can be seen from the grounds around the building, and the interior can be visited as long as church services are respected. Its location on Bârlad’s main street makes it easy to include in a walk through the city center, alongside the administrative and cultural buildings nearby.
