Dr. Petru Groza House in Deva

Deva, Hunedoara

The house of Dr. Petru Groza in Deva is an interwar residence designed in the workshop of the architect Horia Creangă. The plans were made between 1927 and 1929, and the construction was completed in 1930 by a company from Arad. The building stands out for its geometric volumes and the contrast between the simple surfaces of the facades and the gaps of the windows.

The residence illustrates the modern architecture promoted by Horia Creangă, different from the rich decoration of the historical buildings in the center of Deva. The house can be seen from the outside, in the park area at the foot of the fortress. The town hall includes it in the inventory of the city's tourist attractions, but does not announce a tour of the interior.
