Dresden is the capital of Saxony, in eastern Germany, located on the banks of the Elbe. The Zwinger Palace, the Frauenkirche and the Semper Opera house outline the panorama of the historic center, largely rebuilt after the destruction of the past. Museums, squares and the promenade on Brühl Terrace highlight the city's artistic tradition.
