Eminescu's Linden Tree in Blaj

Eminescu's Linden Tree is a natural monument on the northern edge of Blaj, next to the road to Târnăveni.
In 1866, Mihai Eminescu came to Blaj from Bucovina. In the shade of this linden tree, looking at the town from a distance, the poet reportedly exclaimed: “I greet you from the bottom of my heart, little Rome!” He then stayed in Blaj for almost two months, in the house of Ștefan Cacoveanu.
