English Pointer
United Kingdom
The English Pointer is an elegant and athletic pointing dog with a short, glossy coat, usually white with lemon, orange, brown or black markings. The name comes from the position in which it freezes when it senses game, "showing" it to the hunter. The standard describes him as aristocratic, attentive, gentle and balanced.
