English Shepherd
USA
The English Shepherd is a medium-sized American herding dog with long, straight or wavy fur. Wikipedia says that his ancestors were various collies brought to America by colonists from Great Britain and Ireland, and that he was used on farms in the eastern US for sheep and cattle, but also as a guard, rat catcher and companion. Not recognized by FCI or AKC; UKC has been registering him since 1927.
