Evangelical Church in Bistrița
Bistrița, Bistrița-Năsăud
The historic center of Bistrița, in Bistrița-Năsăud county, is dominated by the tower of the Evangelical Church. The building was erected and modified in several stages, and its architecture combines Gothic forms with Renaissance alterations. The 75-meter-high tower rises above the roofs around the square.
On the outside, the tall windows, buttresses and stone portals stand out. Inside are the altar and the historic organ, which is also used for concerts organized by the Evangelical parish. The church has undergone restoration, including after the 2008 fire that damaged the tower.
