Exaltation of the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Oravița
Oravița, Caraș-Severin
The Roman Catholic church in Oravița recalls the Tyrolean settlers who settled on the western slope of the Oravița valley in 1718. They first built a small wooden church in a meadow called "Poiana în cruce".
This is why the church is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, a feast celebrated on September 14. Today's church has a yellow facade with a tall tower and is a historical monument.
