Fântâneanu House in Slatina

Slatina, Olt

Casa Fântâneanu in Slatina is a historical manorial residence restored for diocesan, social and cultural use. Before the construction of the County Administrative Palace, the house also accommodated administrative activities. In 1872, Carol I was received here, during his visit to the city.

The restoration sought to strengthen the masonry and preserve the decorative elements: stucco, carpentry, interior painting and the ironwork of the balcony. The roof and facades were redone, and the courtyard was redeveloped. From the outside you can see the composition of the facade, the rhythm of the windows and the details of the balcony. For the interior, it is necessary to confirm access with the institution using the building; there is no confirmed permanent museum tour.
