It is 1927, and the story begins a few months after Newt helped expose and capture the infamous dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. As promised, however, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and gathered more followers to his cause of elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only person who might stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. Dumbledore must seek help from the wizard who defeated Grindelwald before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with his American friends Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission tests their loyalty as they face new dangers in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.
