The TV show "Fargo"

The first season centers on insurance agent Lester Nygaard (Martin Freeman), whose life in the small town of Bemidji could be greatly improved. A boring job he's not very good at, a nagging wife, a younger brother who can't wait to brag about his new promotion, and a run-in with his high school bully Sam Hess give Lester a horribly bad day. Things don't get any better when, after meeting Hess, he has to go to the hospital, where he meets the mysterious Lorne Malvo (Billy Bob Thornton), a hitman who ended up in little Bemidji after a mission gone wrong. The effects of a conversation with Malvo will prove far-reaching for poor Lester, who will see his life completely turned upside down.
