Fortified Reformed Church in Ocna Sibiului

Ocna Sibiului, Sibiu

The reformed church in the center of Ocna Sibiului was built between 1240 and 1280, in the Romanesque style, and is surrounded by a defensive wall. The south portal preserves a Romanesque bas-relief with the tree of life, guarded by two lions.

Inside you can see the priest's pew and the pulpit canopy from 1515 and a painting of the Crucifixion from 1522. The clock in the tower has been working since 1787, and there are tunnels and a crypt under the church.
