Franco Baresi

Franco Baresi is a former Italian defender known for his anticipation, positioning and the authority with which he ran the defence. He spent his entire playing career at AC Milan, becoming the captain of one of the strongest European teams of the 1980s and 1990s. He won six Italian championships and three European Champions Cups. He quickly read the opponents' intentions and organized the movements of his teammates, being an example of a defender who compensated for the lack of an imposing stature with intelligence.
