Funchal

Funchal is the capital of the Madeira archipelago in Portugal, set in a bay on the south coast of the main island. The old center, the cathedral and the Mercado dos Lavradores are landmarks of the city. Gardens, sloping streets and Atlantic promenades offer views of the bay and surrounding slopes.
